Song samples are now provided through direct integration with iTunes

Song samples were previously provided by Barnes & Noble at BN.com through what was a very tedious and confusing system. The client had to click on the speaker icon, allow the pop-up window, locate the album on which the song is contained, click on that album, locate the song on the album song list, and again click the speaker next to that song to launch the 30 second song sample in Windows Media Player.

Through new integration technology, we are able to now offer song samples directly through iTunes. If you have song samples enabled, your client will simply click on the speaker icon and this will automatically launch their iTunes and locate that artist and song instantly. Then all they have to do is double click the song in iTunes to begin playing the sample. If they do not have iTunes, they will be prompted to install it for free. This is a dramatically streamlined process that is easy to understand, simple to use, and works with the most well known online music store, iTunes. You can enable song samples on your account anytime by visiting the Master Settings page of your control panel.

If you would rather not use iTunes for your song samples, you can alternatively select Barnes & Noble or Amazon. You can change this setting on your account anytime by visiting the Master Settings page of your control panel.


Use META tags and free search engine submission for powerful results

Using the META keyword and description tags feature of your account is a powerful way to enhance your company's exposure in the search engines, increase your link popularity, and come up for more relevant searches. Best of all, it's completely free to setup.

Step 1: Add META keyword and description tags to your tools on the Advanced Settings page of your control panel.
Step 2: Submit the direct links to your website tools to
Google, MSN, and Yahoo.


Specify Guest Request lists remain private so guests can not view other guests' requests

When creating a Guest Request group you can now specify that the request list remain private. This prevents guests from viewing the requests made by other guests. They will only be able to view their own. When you click the "Print" icon next to the Guest Request list, the full list will print with all requests and tally.


Automated emails for Client Area and Guest Request can now specify a direct link or your website

This has long been a requested feature by subscribers. Previously, the automated emails sent out by the Client Area and the Guest Request specified to log in at the system URL, www.ACCOUNT.djintelligence.com/client or www.ACCOUNT.djintelligence.com/request. Under this new programming, the system will now allow you to choose whether the automated email specifies to log in at the direct link (above) or at your website URL, if you have one specified on the Company Information page of your control panel. If you choose the latter, please make sure you have a Client Login box or link and/or a Guest Request link visibly accessible from your homepage. This will further integrate the tools seamlessly into your existing website as the client will only be seeing your website URL and not the system URL.


Staff email option added to Client Area and Guest Request

When setting up a client login you can now specify a staff email address. The email address you enter will be copied on all Update Notifications (if you have this feature activated) as well as the form submissions for the Music Database, Planning Form(s), Timeline(s) and Guest Request list. Note that this sends an additional copy of these emails to the specified address, and still sends a copy to the main email address listed on your account. This is perfect for multi-op companies that have different staff members working on various events. This will eliminate email forwarding to staff members. This is also perfect for single or multi-op companies who want to share information with co-vendors, such as a photographer or videographer.


Stronger email validation installed on each tool, new techniques put in place to bypass spam filters

By popular demand we have installed stronger validation on the email field on each website tool. This new validation will force the client or prospect to enter a single properly formatted email address into the email field so that you can contact them back via email. Keep in mind that our system has no way of validating whether it is a valid, working email address. But the new validation should prevent the user from entering junk into the email field, such as "fdjskdsa". They now have to enter a properly formatted email address. In addition, the tools used for receiving leads, including the Availability Checker, Contact Form, Quote Generator, and Booking System now use a special "from" email address that should help these emails pass through your ISP's spam filters. This means fewer emails should be blocked on their way to you. The client or prospect's email address still appears as the "reply to" address so you can contact them back via email.


Now integrated with Music Magic

The Music Database is now integrated with Music Magic, a leading program on the market today for DJs to catalog their music collection. Download the latest version of Music Magic which includes a new export option on the menu. The Music Database is also integrated with VisiTrax, Music Database 2000, CD Trustee, CD Czar, Collectorz.com, Music Label 2003, and CATraxx music cataloging software.


Lockout notification message added to Client Area

If you use the lockout feature with client logins, you will now see a new message appear on the top of the Client Area main page when a client logs in. This new message instructs the client to submit their final information by the specified date (event date - # of lockout days), as to ensure the client finishes and submits all information to you before their login becomes disabled.


Top 200 songs button added to Guest Request tool

Now guests of your upcoming events will be able to browse the Top 200 most requested songs as they are submitting their musical suggestions to you. To activate the Top 200 songs button, visit the Master Settings page of your control panel.


Planning Form submission now includes CSV attachment

When a client submits a Planning Form to you the email now includes a CSV attachment similar to that of the Music Database. This attachment includes every question and the corresponding answer. This may be useful for you as you can now create Microsoft Word mail merge documents to create literally your own custom reports, designed exactly how you want them to look. Please visit the Microsoft website for instructions on how to create a mail merge document.


Additional control panel functions added

By request, two additional control panel functions have been added. The first allows you to change your account name at anytime. The second allows you to share your forms (planning forms, timelines, and surveys) with other subscribers.


Date and address changes for non-US subscribers

When you are located outside the US, the date format can now be reversed from MM-DD-YYYY to DD-MM-YYYY. You can also change the address terminology to reflect your local standards.


Payment Gateway adds new security for viewing credit card numbers

For the protection of your clients' credit card information, the Payment Gateway has been modified for added security. If you are using the Payment Gateway with your own merchant account, there is now a single email with a secure HTTPS link for viewing the credit card number instead of printing the credit card number in the body of the email. This provides much greater security. If you are using the Payment Gateway with PayPal, no changes have been made.


Additional merge fields added throughout the entire application

Additional merge fields have been added throughout the entire application, including the custom HTML, client area messages, and more. These merge fields will allow you to further personalize your client's experience by merging items such as their name, event date, event type, and event date into various custom messages you post.


Integrate your Availability Checker with leading online directories

Your Availability Checker can be integrated directly into your listing at leading online directories such as Planning.ProDJ.com and DiscJockeys.com. Sign up for a listing at these sites and integrate your Availability Checker. Our research has shown that integrating your Availability Checker with online directories can increase the number of leads you receive from such directories.


Quick message form added to Client Area

The contact links throughout the Client Area have been updated to use a new quick message form. Unlike the Contact Form which prompts your booked clients for much redundant data such as event times, location, number of guests, etc., this quick message form just prompts for the essentials such as name, event date, email, and phone, and allows the client to send you a quick message. The message is delivered to your email and wireless device (if you have one specified). There is no custom HTML or auto-responder for this quick message form.


Append updates to your music list without having to re-upload your entire list

If you have a large music library, you may benefit from just uploading updates to your list as opposed to re-uploading the entire list each time. Under the new system, you should continue to name your upload file "account.txt" (where account is your account name) if you wish to upload and overwrite your entire music list. If you simply wish to upload updates to your existing list, you should name your upload file "account_append.txt" (where account is your account name). This will append the records in the file to your existing list. Warning: This is a feature for advanced users only. If you are not careful, you could end up with many duplicates in your music list. Our recommendation is to upload your entire music list each time. But if you have a large list, just uploading updates could save you time.


Download a copy of your current music list in CSV Excel format

If for some reason you deleted or lost your music list on your local computer, you can now have the system email you a copy of your current list in CSV Excel format. This is a helpful feature if your computer crashes or if your local music list file becomes corrupt. To use this feature, go to the Music Database upload page of your control panel and click the "To email yourself a copy of your current list, please click here." link at the top. This link will only appear if you have your own personal music library installed.


Control the margins on all pages of your website tools

Recognizing that different site designs call for different margin settings, you are now able to control the margins of the pages of your website tools to fit your individual needs. By default the margins are set to 2. If you wish to change this setting, visit the Master Settings page of your control panel.


Control the width of the borders on all tables in your website tools

An additional customization component has been added to the Master Settings page of your control panel which allows you to control the width of the border surrounding all tables of your website tools. You can remove the borders completely or make them extremely wide. By default, the border width is set to 1.


Filter searching added to the Planning Form song search

Song fields on your Planning Forms contain a link to a quick song search tool which allows your clients to locate a specific song and bring the title and artist of the song back into the Planning Form. A filter search has been added to this quick song search tool so your clients can view all songs within a certain filter. This feature is only active if you have filters uploaded with your music list or if you are using the default music list.


Optionally receive all quotes sent from a single person via the Quote Generator

An additional setting has been added to the Master Settings page of your control panel which allows you to set whether or not you want to receive all quotes sent from a single person via the Quote Generator. When set to "No", you will only receive the first quote. This prevents the flooding of your Email Inbox with multiple emails from a single person as they go back to modify their quote multiple times. When set to "Yes", you will receive all quotes each time they modify it.


Optionally set the Quote Generator to display only the total price

An additional setting has been added to the Master Settings page of your control panel which allows you to set whether or not you want to display the full details of the Quote Generator price quote to the client. If "Yes" is selected, all information including packages, options, upgrades, discounts, travel charges, etc. will be shown to the client along with corresponding price. If "No" is selected, only items such as subtotal, tax, deposit, and grand total will be shown to the client. With either selection you will receive the full quote details via email.
